Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s New CEO is Shy and Humble
Satya Nadella is Microsoft’s new CEO replacing Steve Ballmer effective immediately. Microsoft released a video introducing the new CEO in a very casual manner. Judging from Satya Nadella’s body language he’s a shy, humble guy, a bit stressed in front of the camera and his new role.
Satya Nadella: The software guy with business zen for Microsoft
Pay attention how the interview starts. Satya Nadella is fresh, upbeat, smiling. Start paying attention how he’s slowly but gradually losing the lead of this casual walk. Now jump to 3:10 and watch Nadella passing through the doors not leading but following the lead of the interviewer. The pattern continues through the end of the video where the interviewee take a less prominent, less attractive if you than the interviewer.
Don’t get me wrong. Satya Nadella looks like a great guy and innovative person, possible the best thing that can happen to a person fitting into the Microsoft CEO role for years to come. It’s probably a matter of media training and coaching for Nadella to show off his leadership skills, impress and inspire everyone at Microsoft. 2014 is going to be very interesting and innovative for Microsoft.
